Get a proof of award, statement, transcript, academic verification or diploma supplement

All students at the University of Leeds automatically receive a digital proof of award and final transcript of results at graduation.

But there are situations where you might need to request additional copies of these documents or a statement for third parties.

Third parties like employers can also request an academic verification to confirm a student’s details.

Get a digital proof of award

Your digital proof of award confirms:

  • basic personal details
  • attendance dates
  • programme of study
  • qualification and classification achieved
  • award date.

All students are automatically sent a digital proof of award within 3 working days of publication of final results.

Your digital proof of award is not sent to your university email account. It will be sent to the email account you gave when registering your graduation choice.

If you do not receive your digital proof of award after three working days ensure you check your spam and junk folders.

You can email the Student Information Service at studentinfo@leeds.ac.uk for further assistance.

Get a statement

A statement contains the same information as your digital proof of award.

All former students can get a statement whether you completed your studies or permanently withdrew from the programme.

You can apply for a statement online. If you need the statement to provide to a third party, you will need to provide the third party’s email address when you apply.

For example, you may need to use a statement as a supporting document to verify your degree in your home country. Check with your embassy or ministry of education to confirm if you need one.

Get a transcript

Your transcript is a complete academic record.

Your transcript includes:

  • modules for each year of study
  • marks and credits
  • a record of time spent in industry or study abroad.

When you successfully complete your degree programme you will automatically receive your final transcript and degree certificate at graduation.

If you do not attend graduation, your documents will be posted to you.

We are unable to amend or omit information on transcripts.

Provisional marks do not appear on your transcript.

How to apply for a transcript

Current students can apply for a transcript online.

If you are awaiting your results, please do not apply for a current student transcript. Students who have successfully completed their degree programme will receive their final transcript and degree certificate at graduation. Students due to be awarded in November 2024 will receive a digital transcript and degree certificate by 19 December 2024.

Get an academic verification

An academic Verification confirms a student’s basic programme and award details to a third party such as employers or other educational institutions.

This document is not for students. It is sent to third parties, such as employers and other institutions.

If you are from a third party organisation and need an academic verification for a University of Leeds student, you should register with Prospects Hedd.
