Postgraduate researchers

If you are a postgraduate researcher, you can find information on the PGR degree certificates webpage about how postgraduate research certificates and transcripts are sent.

Taught students

As a taught student, the way you receive your degree certificate and transcript will depend on whether you are attending a graduation ceremony in July 2024, and the date when your award is confirmed by the University.

I am registered to attend my graduation ceremony in person in July 2024, how will I receive my certificate and transcript?

If you are a taught student and have registered to attend a July 2024 Graduation ceremony, you will receive your degree certificate and transcript during the ceremony.

You will receive your printed documents in this way, unless you have already received them by mail, for example if you completed your studies the previous year.

If, for any reason, your degree certificate and transcript are not available in your Graduation ceremony, you will instead be posted these in the mail as soon as possible after the summer ceremonies. This will only happen after your award has been confirmed by the University. There may be a delay in you receiving your documents if you haven’t updated your contact details (see below).

I have chosen to delay my graduation ceremony to December 2024 or July 2025, or receive my award in absentia, how will I receive my certificate and transcript?

If you are not attending a graduation ceremony in July 2024, you will be posted your degree certificate and transcript in the mail as soon as possible after the summer ceremonies. This will only happen after your award has been confirmed by the University. There may be a delay in you receiving your documents if you haven’t updated your contact details (see below).

I completed my studies last year but chose to defer to a July 2024 graduation ceremony.

You should have already received your degree certificate and transcript if you finished your studies before the summer. You should not receive a further copy during the ceremony. If you have not received your documents, please contact the Student Information Service.

How do I update my address?

It is important that you provide up-to-date contact details in case we need to send any documents to you. It’s also important to keep this information up to date so we can contact you after you have completed your studies.

If you were awarded before the end of January 2024

You are no longer able to enter an address using the Student Services Portal. Please contact the Student Information Service with your most up-to-date postal and email addresses, and telephone number. If you have already provided a postal address, email address and telephone number and would like to amend that, please contact the Student Information Service.

If you are awarded after 1 February 2024 and are expecting to receive documents in the post

By default, we send any documents to the permanent home address you provided during registration, unless you have provided an alternative address specifically for your degree certificate. For taught students, we only send documents if you are not able to receive them during a graduation ceremony.

If your permanent home address and contact telephone number are correct and up to date, you do not need to do anything. You can check the permanent home address and contact telephone number via the same Portal.

If your address contains a region, province and/or a state, please enter these in Address Line 3.
