Change of module
Once you have started your studies, you may decide you wish to change one or more of the modules you've registered for and there is a process to do this.
Transfer to a new programme
Sometimes students decide they would like to change the programme of study they are registered for. This might be possible, but the following process should be followed.
Transfer to another University
Sometimes students decide they have made the wrong choice and would like to transfer to a programme at a different University. This is normally possible.
Extending your study period
Your programme of study will have a maximum time limit and if you wish to extend this you will need to speak to your parent school.
Taking time out or leaving Leeds early
If you’re finding it hard to continue with your studies, talking to someone who can help is the first step. In some cases, you might consider taking time out of your studies for an agreed break, known as temporary leave. You might also consider permanently leaving your course, known as permanent leave.
Changes in circumstances
The funding you get now and in future, can be affected by a change in your circumstances, for example if you're repeating a year, suspending or withdrawing, coming back to university or transferring.
Change of personal details
Please let the University know immediately about any changes to your personal details so your records are up to date.
Extending your visa in the UK
If you currently have a student visa and need more time in the UK as a student, then you may be able to make an immigration application within the UK.
Leaving your research degree early
While we hope everything goes well with your studies, sometimes things don’t quite go to plan.
Applying for your visa outside the UK
You may need to make your visa application in your home country, particularly if you've had a break in your studies.
