The 'Laidlaw Leadership and Research Programme aims to develop a new generation of leaders. It invests in talented and motivated undergraduate students, giving them the knowledge, skills and experience to become active global citizens and future leaders.
University of Leeds Undergraduate Research Conference
The Leeds Curriculum is committed to every student undertaking a final year project. Hence, all Leeds students undertake research, in their final year, on industrial and overseas placements and/or through the increasing number of research internships. This commitment to research at the heart of the curriculum is greatly enhanced if all students also have the opportunity to disseminate their findings to the academic community, through publications and conferences.
British conference of Undergraduate research
The University of Leeds is affiliated to The British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) which promotes undergraduate research in all disciplines.
International conference of Undergraduate research
Led and sponsored by the University of Warwick and Monash University in partnership with The University of Leeds, the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) is an annual, two-day academic conference using video-conferencing technology.

The Beaumont Award
The University of Leeds Beaumont Award recognises research projects undertaken by undergraduate students from any discipline. This might be a Final Year Project, a research project, or related to an internship pursued at the University.
