Religious observance and assessments

We try to avoid arranging assessments on a Sabbath or holy day. However, sometimes we may need to if no alternative time is available.

If you’re unable to attend exams/assessments on Sabbaths, holy days or religious festivals (including Eid celebrations), please tell the Assessment and Progress team by completing the notification of religious commitments form. 

Please include on the form all the dates during the examination periods which affect you (including weekends). For dates of examination periods, visit the assessment timetables page.

Deadlines for letting us know

• Friday 23 October 2026 (for January 2027 examination period)
• Friday 19 February 2027 (for May/June 2027 examination period)
• Wednesday 14 July 2027 (for August 2027 resit examination period)

After these dates, it will be more difficult to consider your request as we will have started compiling the assessment timetable.
