Roles and Risks
Want to explore the practical and intellectual challenges of new technology?
This sub-theme focuses on the potential hazards of new technologies. For example, on the one hand autonomous vehicles will lead to more convenient and sustainable transport systems: On the other, they challenge law makers to address new issues of privacy, security and liability. This sub-theme explores how the new roles and risks of such technologies have prompted changes in the law to manage the perils of crime and hazard that can accompany innovation.
This sub-theme may be especially useful for those considering a career in law or politics.
“New technology is not good or evil in and of itself. It's all about how people choose to use it”: David Wong
