Parking and venue accessibility

Parking at graduation

You can park for free at the Cinder Moor car park on Woodhouse Lane it is open 8am – 7pm.  It is the car park directly opposite Woodhouse Moor Park (not the multi-storey nearer Leeds City Centre).  The postcode if using a Sat Nav is LS6 2NA.

It is approximately a 20 minute walk to the University Campus.  Please take this into consideration and plan ahead to allow time to get to the Campus.  We recommend you drop off any guests with mobility constraints at the main entrance before heading to the car park.  The University operates a car number plate recognition system so it is important to inform us if you require blue badge parking which we request during registration so we can book your vehicle in.  You can submit your car vehicle details using the form

Other chargeable parking is available in Leeds City Centre.

Parking for Blue Badge holders

Blue Badge holders can park for free on campus you will need to book your vehicle in with us as we operate an automatic number plate recognition system.

Venue accessibility

The University campus is fully accessible. The two main areas you will need to access for graduation, the Great Hall and the Student Union Building, both have lift and wheelchair access. The Great Hall is also fitted with an induction loop system.

Graduation ceremonies are held on the first floor of the Great Hall, accessible via a lift. There will be portering staff in the Hall to offer assistance.

We have an excellent team on hand on the day who can offer assistance to your guests into the Hall via the lift and provide a seat near the exit.

Disabled students taking part in the ceremony

If you are unable to use the steps to the stage, or do not wish to, there is a platform lift available. You also have the option not to go on stage, in which case the Presiding Officer will come down to you. If you would like to arrange this or have any other special requirements you would like us to accommodate please email us or fill out the form and someone from the team will be in touch to go through what we are doing to accommodate this for you.

You may find it useful to watch a webcast of a previous ceremony.
