Graduation tickets

Register to attend a ceremony in the Great Hall and request up to two guest tickets at the same time.

Tickets are only needed for the ceremony itself. Other spaces on campus are open to all guests to enjoy the day with you before and after the ceremony.

Tickets will be confirmed in the confirmation email you receive shortly after you register your graduation choice.

How to collect your tickets

Collect your tickets on ceremony day from the ticket desk in the Parkinson Building. Arrive at least 90 minutes before your ceremony starts.

You’ll need to:

  • show photo ID (such as your student card)
  • collect your guest tickets in person
  • keep your tickets with you to access the Great Hall.

All graduates and guests coming to the Great Hall will need to show a valid ticket to enter. There is strictly no admission to the Great Hall without a ticket.

Extra tickets

Although we schedule graduation ceremonies to full capacity, there may be an opportunity for you to express an interest in up to two extra guest tickets.

We allocate these on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.

For most ceremonies, they’re in very high demand, and there is no guarantee your application will be successful. For some graduation ceremonies where all seats are already booked, no extra guest tickets will be available.

If extra tickets are available, you can apply for up to two extra tickets using the extra ticket request form when it opens.

You’ll need the following details:

  • your full name
  • your student ID number
  • your personal email address
  • number of additional guest tickets you would like to request (up to two)
  • the date and time of your ceremony.

We’ll send an email notification after the form closing date if you’ve been successful.

Bringing young children

For ceremonies in the Great Hall, children under 16 must be with an adult and have a valid entry ticket.

Children over five years old need a standard entry ticket.

Children under five years old need a ‘sit on knee’ ticket. These are available from the ticket desk in the Parkinson Building. The child must be present when collecting their ‘sit on knee’ ticket.

Bringing guests without a ticket

Tickets are only needed for the ceremony itself. Other spaces on campus are open to all guests to enjoy.

Guests without ticketed access to the Great Hall can watch ceremonies live from:

  • Rupert Beckett Lecture Theatre in the Michael Sadler Building
  • Terrace in Leeds University Union

You can also watch ceremonies in real-time or after the event at the live ceremony stream.
