Disability Services drop-in sessions

Find out how to talk to a member of our team about the disability support available to you.

We can help you with:

  • Registering with Disability Services 
  • Obtaining supporting information 
  • Applying for Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSAs)
  • Understanding the support available to you.

You do not need a diagnosis or a formal disability to attend a session or book an appointment.

Reduced drop-in service (9 November)

Please be aware that Disability Services will be running a reduced drop-in service during the week beginning 9 November.

During this time, you can still contact us as normal for support and advice about:

  • How to register with Disability Services
  • Applying for the Disabled Students' Allowance
  • Accessing Counselling & Wellbeing support
  • Accessing academic skills support via Skills@library
  • Learning about Assistive Tech support by arranging a meeting with our Assistive Technology Advisor, Tom Starkey, for advice on free software and apps that can help you in your studies.
  • Finding out who your School Disability Contact is and what potential interim support you can access

In-person drop-in sessions

Drop in to see us in Disability Services (Ground floor, Chemistry West building) at the following times:

  • Mondays: 1.30pm to 4pm 
  • Tuesdays: 1.30pm to 4pm
  • Wednesdays: 1.30pm to 4pm
  • Thursdays: 10am to 12.30pm
  • Fridays: 10am to 12.30pm

You don’t need to book an appointment for in-person sessions. Appointments are held on a first-come, first-served basis. The last appointment will be available twenty minutes before closing.

Online appointments

Online appointments are available at the following times:

  • Monday: 11am to 12.30pm
  • Wednesday: 11am to 12.30pm
  • Thursday: 1:30pm to 3pm
  • Friday: 1:30pm to 3pm

Directions from Leeds University Union

  1. With your back to the Students’ Union Building, walk towards the Great Hall and Clothworkers’ Arch.
  2. Go through the arch and continue across the courtyard. 
  3. Continue straight, with the School of Media and Communication on your left.
  4. Disability Services is located in the Chemistry West Building at the end of the path.
