Summer Volunteering Abroad

International volunteering offers you a chance to help support a cause you feel passionate about and can be a highly rewarding experience.

Think Pacific: Volunteer in Fiji or Bali

Think Pacific is a social enterprise and international charity that was born out of the University of Leeds in 2009 by alumni.

Through Think Pacific, students have the opportunity to join a volunteer expedition in Fiji to work on sustainable development projects in partnership with the Fijian Government where you will be working with local communities and organisations and can choose from projects across a range of sectors, or intern in Bali.

Gryphons Abroad

Gryphons Abroad is an international development project in South Africa delivered with Leeds Sport. The project engages young people in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal in a programme of cycling, sport, leadership & education. The project has aspiration, cultural & global awareness and employability for both UK students and South African pupils at its heart and you’ll develop a range of skills which will set you apart when you leave University.

To become team members, students are required to fundraise which covers the costs associated with the trip along with a contribution to the project costs, for example the cost of setting up the cycling hub.

For more information, including how to apply, please visit the Gryphons Abroad programme website.
