The library
Leeds University Library is one of the major academic research libraries of the UK, attracting students and scholars from around the world to its rich and extensive collections.
Library staff provide specialist support, information literacy and academic skills teaching, so that students and staff find, use and apply the information they need effectively.
The Library offers a variety of study environments, with over 3,900 study spaces across its campus buildings, from silent individual study to vibrant group work areas. There are extensive computer facilities and the Library is wireless enabled throughout for laptop use.
Brotherton Library
The Brotherton Library (located in the Parkinson Building) contains the main collections for the arts, social sciences and law. Special Collections, including some of the UK's outstanding rare books and manuscripts, is also within the Library.
Edward Boyle library
The Edward Boyle Library contains the main collections for Science and Engineering. It is currently undergoing a refurbishment to increase study space and update facilities.
Health Sciences library
The Health Sciences Library is on level 7 of the Worsley Building and contains the main collections for medicine and health-related subjects.
Laidlaw library
The Laidlaw library has facilities for group work, bookable space, on site academic skills support and conveniently located café facilities that open later than other campus outlets. It has over 5km of books including the High Demand Collection and Core Texts.
St James's University Hospital library
Based on level 3 of the Clinical Sciences building, St James's University Hospital campus, the Library supports the information needs of University research and teaching staff, medical and healthcare students, and employees of the Hospital Trust.
Other libraries
Some schools have their own library too. These are managed within the faculty.
