Academic personal tutor appointments
Building a good relationship with your academic personal tutor is invaluable if you want to make the most of your time at university.
Attending appointments regularly means you can address challenges as they come up, review your progress, and receive the support you need.
To make the most of your academic personal tutor appointments:
- Attend appointments and actively participate.
- Confirm non-attendance in advance with good reason and arrange an alternative time.
- Use the ‘My APT’ section of your LeedsforLife workbook – log in to PebblePad and select ‘resources’ to find your workbook.
- Inform your personal tutor as soon as you can if circumstances are affecting your ability to study, so they can help.
- Follow up on agreed next steps – bring any outcomes ready for discussion at the next meeting.
- Stay in touch – engage with any communications between meetings.
- Request additional meetings with your academic personal tutor if you have specific welfare or academic issues.
If you have questions or concerns about the academic personal tutor process, please contact your school’s Student Support team.
