Changing modules after online module enrolment is closed
If you want to make changes after the online enrolment system has closed, you need to check your school's module change deadline hasn’t passed.
If the online enrolment system has closed but your school module change deadline hasn’t passed, you need to request the changes using the change of module form.
Each academic year, the form remains open until 5pm on the Friday of the third teaching week of the second semester but you still need to check your school’s module change deadline before submitting your request.
After the module change deadline for your school has passed, please contact your school for advice if you’d like exceptions to be considered.
Changes may need to be approved by the schools of the old and new module choices as well as the school for your course. If all schools agree then the change can be made.
Schools may contact you to discuss the changes if they need further information. If the change is approved, your school should confirm this through email.
Study abroad students
If you’re an incoming study abroad student, please contact your study abroad coordinator in your school to make changes to your modules.
How decisions are made
Schools consider multiple factors to decide if you can change modules. These include:
- your attendance record
- if the change is within your course rules
- any pre-requisites or co-requisites for your new module choice
- the capacity and availability of the new module choice
- your timetable.
Compulsory modules
You can’t make changes to the compulsory modules of your course.
If you want to change course, you’ll need to contact your school as soon as possible for advice. You can also read about how to transfer to a different course.
School module change deadlines
Many schools don’t accept module changes after the second week of teaching in the semester. Visit University term dates to find when teaching starts each semester.
If you want to enrol on a module after the second week of teaching, you need to:
- check the deadlines for the school the module is in
- check with your school.
