If your arrival is delayed
Sometimes journeys don’t turn out as planned for reasons which you can’t control. If your journey is delayed, check this page to find out who you can contact to get help and make sure you know who to notify about your delayed arrival so you can be supported.

We understand that sometimes journeys can be unpredictable and delays can happen for reasons that outside of your control.
Delaying your arrival before you travel
If your planned journey is delayed (e.g. visa delays), it’s important that you:
1. Apply for a replacement vignette
If you have delayed your travel to the UK and the ‘valid to’ date on your visa vignette has expired, you’ll need to apply for a replacement vignette.
2. Notify your school of your delayed arrival
Contact your school to let them know that your arrival will be delayed so that you can receive the right advice about attending your school induction, your programme start dates and any specific requirements related to your arrival in Leeds.
3. Notify your accommodation provider
If you arranged to collect your keys from University accommodation but your journey is delayed contact the Accommodation Office to let them know about your plans. You can also contact them by phone on +44 (0)113 343 7777.
If you’re staying in private accommodation, make sure you know who to contact to let them know about your delayed arrival.
If you’re travelling to Leeds and your journey is delayed
If your arrival is delayed because of problems you’ve encoutered during your journey, contact your accommodation provider as soon as you can.
If you’re staying in University Accommodation, get in touch with the Accommodation Office to let them know about your arrival plans. If you had arranged to collect your keys you may need to re-arrange this.

If you’re staying in private accommodation, make sure you know who to contact if you’re delayed on your journey.
If you are not able to contact your accommodation, take a taxi to the University Security Services where staff are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
The University Security Services building is located on 175 Woodhouse Lane.
