Our postgraduate researcher wellbeing programme includes in-person workshops and online webinars about managing your wellbeing as a postgraduate researcher.

Sign up for each of the events opens two weeks before the event, and will close one hour before the start of the event.

Small Steps to Success

Monday 11 May 2026 – 12pm to 1pm – online (MS Teams)

The PGR journey is a long one. This workshop explores how small changes can help us maintain momentum and motivation and move us closer to our intended goals. There will be opportunity to consider and create planned action which will move us towards change, growth and improved wellbeing.

Imposter Syndrome

Monday 15 June 2026 – 12pm to 1pm – Group Room, 19 Clarendon Place, LS2 9JY

Imposter Syndrome is a ‘state of mind’, a belief that one day someone will discover that you are not as smart as they think. It’s a syndrome that has a powerful presence in academia. This workshop will look at why academic researchers can develop Imposter Syndrome and offer suggestions to overcome this syndrome which otherwise creates self-doubt, low self-esteem and lack of motivation.

Format of the webinars and workshops

In-person workshops

The in-person workshops take place in our Group Room at 19 Clarendon Place, Leeds, LS2 9JY.

There are 12 places available for each workshop and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Online webinars

The webinars take place on MS Teams and the sessions have been designed for you to share your ideas anonymously in the chat, if you wish.

The webinars are not recorded and participants do not connect with their own video or audio during the sessions.
