Find out if you are eligible for the Intercultural Ambassadors programme and how to apply.

Eligibility

The programme is open to all current Leeds home and international undergraduates, taught postgraduates, postgraduate researchers, and exchange students who will be in Leeds for both semesters. 

If you have any access requirements you’d like us to be aware of, including invisible disabilities, please tell us about these on your application form. If you’d like to speak to a member of the project team about this before you apply, please email the Global Community team at globalcommunity@leeds.ac.uk.

How to apply

You can now apply to join the Intercultural Ambassadors programme. Follow the steps below to submit your application. 

Application deadline – Sunday 19 October 2025, 11.59pm.

  1. Read the Intercultural Ambassador application pack to find out more about the programme.
  2. Fill in the Intercultural Application form 
  3. Attend an information session to find out more about the programme, get tips on how to make a strong application and ask questions.

Application criteria

To apply for the programme, you should:

  • Be committed to attending all training sessions, completing project preparation work, and dedicating a significant number of hours to developing, delivering, and evaluating a project.
  • Have an open mind and an interest in interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Be interested in enriching others’ understanding of the world and be able to motivate them to engage in intercultural activities.
  • Work well in a team.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with a range of audiences.
  • Listen effectively to others.
  • Be proactive and able to use your initiative.

The best part of the programme was meeting all the amazing people from different cultures! I enjoyed planning and organising the event while discussing creative ideas with my teammates.
