Late payment fees

Charges apply if you’re late paying your tuition or university accommodation fees.

What you’ll be charged

Tuition fee late payment fees

A £20 charge will be added to your account each month until the outstanding amount is cleared.

This applies to all students, including those resitting modules externally or on temporary or permanent leave.

Late payment  administration charges when you have applied for a tuition fee loan

If you’ve successfully applied for a Student Finance tuition fee loan but received late payment charges due to outstanding tuition fees, we’ll cancel these charges.

Any late charges must be paid in full if you’re not eligible for the loan.

Accommodation late payment fees

If you fail to pay accommodation fees, late payment interest will be added at an Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of base rate +3%.

When someone else pays for your fees

If someone else, such as a parent, makes your payments, it’s your responsibility to tell them of any overdue balance and the date payment must be received.

Any late payment administration charges must be paid in full.

How we’ll contact you about your fees

We send emails to your University email address. If you have left the University permanently, we may contact you on your personal email or we will write to you at your permanent home address.

Failure to check your emails is not a valid reason for late payment. Please check your account regularly.
