International Orientation

Welcome to Leeds! Our international orientation programme will help you make the best possible start in Leeds. Whenever you arrive, you’ll be able to join talks, tours and social events to help you feel at home and meet new people.

International Orientation

This page was last updated on Monday 28 November.

International orientation is the perfect way to find out more about the University of Leeds and about living in the UK, join in social activities and tours and meet new and current Leeds students. Whenever you arrive, we’ll help you:

  • Find essential information and learn about opportunities to make the most of your international experience in Leeds.

  • Discover our campus and the city.

  • Meet other students, make connections and start settling in.

Main international orientation talk

Attend our orientation session for essential information about living in the UK, including support and opportunities to help you make the most of living and studying in Leeds. We’ll also explore ways to take care of yourself (and each other) as you adapt to culture and lifestyle changes.

Our in-person session will take place on Monday 30th January 2023 (time and location will be confirmed on this page soon).

Prefer to attend online? Join our online international orientation talk on Wednesday 1st February 2023 (a live link to this session will be added here closer to the time).

On-demand webinars

Check our International Orientation resources page, download our slides or listen to our bespoke webinars in your own time.

Our webinars will help you with some of the more practical aspects of your stay, from opening a bank account, to registering with a doctor and understanding support for disabled students.

Asking for help

The Student Information Service

If you’ve just arrived in Leeds, take some time to read about processes you’ll need to complete when you're on campus

If you’re already in Leeds and have started your course, you can still get in touch with the Student Information Service (SIS) with any questions you have throughout your time in Leeds.

Our friendly SIS team will be able to answer your questions or put you in touch with the right team on campus that can help you. You can call them, email them, or visit them at one of four Student Information Points on campus.

LUU Help&Support

Make sure to visit the LUU building. If you have any questions about student life in Leeds, visit the LUU Help&Support desk in the Student Union Foyer to speak to a trained adviser.
