Create content for us
Nobody knows the student experience better than other students. That’s why we’re always looking for people like you to help us create new content on the key themes and topics that matter most for your life at Leeds.
There are lots of different ways to create content depending on your skills, including writing blogs, presenting in videos, collaborating on social media content, and much more. The best part is, every time you create content with us, you'll be paid for your time!
Sign up to be a student content creator
If you sign up to be a student content creator, we’ll email you periodically with new opportunities to work with us. This will normally be on a first come, first served basis. In the meantime, if you’ve got great ideas for content that you think would inform, engage, or inspire other students, get in touch with us via email at studentcommunications@leeds.ac.uk.

What is it?
The student insight panel is an opportunity for first-year students to make a lasting impact on communications and engagement at Leeds. Alongside your peers, you’ll be asked to share your honest opinions, aspirations, advice and ideas at key stages throughout your year so we can make meaningful changes for the future.
We want this group to represent the full diversity of our student population, to make sure we’re giving each student at Leeds the best possible experience.
How does the student insight panel work?
We know student life is busy, so we’ll only get in touch a few times throughout the year. Each term we’ll ask you to:
- Respond to two to three online discussion questions on Flip
- Attend a campus-based focus group to share feedback
We’ll ask you to share your reflections and feedback about key milestones of your student experience – like your welcome into our community, starting your studies and settling in at Leeds. Questions will be sent through Flip, and you’ll have a few weeks to share your reflections. You can express yourself however feels best, including audio, text, or video messages.
We'll also hold focus groups throughout the year where you can take part in a more detailed facilitated discussion with your peers.
What skills do I need to have?
- We’re looking for students who are willing to share their experiences in a group setting
- You’ll also be expected to participate in discussions with the rest of the panel and make meaningful contributions
- You need to be able to come to our on-campus focus groups once a term
- You should be a first year student – whether you’re from the UK or international, straight from school or a mature student, Leeds-based or commuting, we want to hear from you
What do I get in return?
- Payment for your participation
- Great work experience
- The chance to leave a legacy for future Leeds students
- Increased confidence and communication skills
- A way to reflect on your time at Leeds and how far you’ve come
How do I sign up?
Fill out the student insight panel sign-up form to register your interest. As well as telling us about yourself, you’ll be asked to tell us why you want to join the student insight panel. You can do this by uploading a brief video or by writing a short statement (minimum 100 words).
