Research programmes

RISE Germany

Research Internships for masters and PhD students (RISE) Germany offers summer research internships in Germany for undergraduate, masters and PhD students studying and researching in the fields of biology, chemistry, computer science, physics, earth sciences, engineering or a closely related field. All participants receive grants from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). 

RISE Professional – Research Internships for masters and PhD students:

RISE Professional offers summer research internships of three months to masters and PhD students at companies and research instituions with strong relations to Germany. RISE Professional is funded by the German Federal Office and students will recieve a stipend from their host company/institutions in addition to the grant from DAAD to help cover living expenses. For more information please visit www.daad.de/rise-professional

Winter Schools

VU Amsterdam, Graduate Winter School: 9th – 20th January 2023

VU Winter School team are hosting various online one-week winter courses especially designed for PGR, PhD students and professionals. Courses vary from business and economics, analytics and data, to professional and research skills, management, leadership and public service.

Participants can expect:
•    Expertise and new skills
•    Exclusive content for a limited number of participants
•    Expanding of CV and staying professionally competitive
•    A chance to expand international and professional network

University of Ljubljana, Global School in Empirical Research Methods (GSERM): 9th – 20th January 2023

The Global School in Empirical Research Methods (GSERM) is high-quality integrated programme, teaching methodology for PhD students, postdocs, researchers from leading universities and professionals from outside academia from all around the world. Programme will help participants in mastering advanced methodological skills that will empower them to conduct cutting-edge academic research. The two courses will cover:

  • Course One (9-13 January 2023)
    • Analyzing Panel Data
    • Analyzing Survey Research Data
    • Case Study Methods
  • Course Two (16-20 January 2023)
    • Visualizing and Communicating Data with R
    • Qualitative Research Methods and Data Analysis
    • Mediation, Moderation and Conditional Process Analysis

University of Ljubljana, Doctoral Winter School: 13th – 17th February 2023

This winter, the School of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, are hosting five online courses intended for PhD students, post-docs, academics and professionals from different areas of study and from all around the world. The courses will cover:

  • Research and Theorising using Observationand Interviews
  • Economic Psychology
  • Quantitative Research with R Studio
  • Introduction to Data Science with Python
  • Applied Time Series Analysis and Forecasting with stata and R

Leeds KAIST International Leadership Programme (formerly Leeds to South Korea)

The Leeds KAIST International Leadership Programme is your chance to develop your leadership and communication skills as you work collaboratively with students from KAIST University to create solutions to some of the world’s greatest challenges.
