Request the documents to be posted to you

Due to the postponement of the July 2021 Graduation Event to Spring 2022 all successful candidates will graduate without being present in person (technically known as graduating ‘in absentia’).  In practice, this means that you will receive your degree certificates by post rather than at a ceremony in the Great Hall.  After the main results are published in Minerva, certificates and transcripts will be posted by the end of August 2021.

We now need you to log into the Graduation Registration system.  It opens on the 22 June and closes on the 9 July 2021.   

Not confirming your details will result in a delay sending your certificate.

REGISTER TO HAVE YOUR DOCUMENTS POSTED

  1. log into Minerva using your IT username and password
  2. Click on the Access Student Services icon in the tool bar on the top right 
  3. Click the Registration and Student Records tab
  4. Click the Graduation Ceremony link at the bottom of the page
  5. Click the In absentia number to enter the system
  6. You are now in the system, go through each step selecting to have your documents posted out to you in absentia. 
  7. Remember if you need to update your address you need to do this in the personal information tab in Minerva. 

IF YOU NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO MINERVA PLEASE TRY THIS ALTERNATIVE METHOD

  1. log into Student Services using your old username and password.  If you don’t remember your username and password you can retrieve your original default one at mypassword.leeds.ac.uk and putting your 9 digit student number and your Date of Birth. 
  2. Once inside, Click on the Registration and Student Records tab
  3. Click the Graduation Ceremony link at the bottom of the page
  4. Click the In absentia number to enter the system
  5. You are now in the system, go through each step selecting to have your documents posted out to you in absentia. 
  6. Remember if you need to update your address you need to do this in the personal information tab in Minerva. 

 

You will receive one certificate and one transcript together in a hard-backed envelope.

 

We will aim to post all documents from 16 August 2021.  All certificates will be sent free of charge by standard post.  Please note that delivery time can take up to 4 weeks for a UK address and 8 weeks for an overseas address and cannot be tracked. We will not be able to produce duplicate copies until this time period has passed, so please do not contact us until after this time if you have not received your documents.

You can pay to have your documents posted by DHL tracked delivery.  We highly recommend this when posting to an overseas address.  This is a courier service which allows you to track your order online and delivery time is reduced. You must order this by 9th July 2021 and we aim to post these from 16 August 2021.  If you purchase after 9th July 2021 we cannot process your request and your order will be cancelled and the money refunded.

In line with Covid guidance we are unable to offer an on campus collection option so please to not attend campus.
