Global Leadership Forum and Global Citizenship

The University of Leeds Global Leadership Forum and Global Citizenship Course will bring together hundreds of students from across the university to engage with a global network of visionary leaders representing massive international brands, as well as unsung heroes who make change happen.

 

Global Leadership Forum

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The Global Leadership Forum is a 4.5-hours online leadership programme taking place on Wednesday 29th November 2023, 4 – 8.30pm (UK time)

The programme will allow you to stand up and take ownership of the leadership that will define you, your generation and the impact you will have on the world — and to demonstrate this by earning the embedded Global Leadership micro-credential.

Each session will be facilitated by Common Purpose, a leadership development organisation that specialises in cross-boundary leadership. Common Purpose is a not-for-profit organisation running programmes in more than 70 cities worldwide.

You will have the chance to choose from 4 different masterclasses and 4 different leadership insight sessions, enabling you to explore key themes and issues with a range of expert speakers including recent Leeds graduates.

During the programme, you will engage with a variety of senior leaders and unsung heroes such as Gerd Pircher, Bank Chief Executive Officer & Non-Executive Director (HSBC), Patricia Souza, Co-Managing Director (Girls in Tech), and Deputy Superintendent Pamelia Harris, Bureau of Field Services (Boston Police Department). You’ll also have the chance to engage with an eclectic mix of University of Leeds Graduates.

HOW TO APPLY

The programme has 500 fully-funded places available and is open to all students, both Undergraduate and Postgraduate, including PGRs. Students across all disciplines and levels of study are eligible to register.

Global Citizenship Course

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

Monday 30th October - Friday 17th November, 3 hours per week, 9 hours total!

Do you have a passion for sustainability? Care deeply about the world around you? And want to make real, lasting change in the world both locally and globally? 

The University of Leeds Global Citizenship Course is your opportunity to get the grips with the UN Sustainable Goals, understand their importance and most importantly leave quipped to take rapid action to advance a goal you care about. 

Over three weeks you and your peers will go through this asynchronous online course, on our interactive platform, guiding you along your journey The programme consists of videos, articles, podcasts and has 3 short assessments to help you articulate your learning. 

Over the 3 weeks you will: 
• Gain skills and competencies needed to thrive in the 21st century 
• Build your networks 
• Be better equipped to operate across hierarchies

Upon completing the programme you will also be eligible to claim the Global Citizenship Micro Credential to demonstrate your learning.
