Airport pick-up service

We offer a free pick-up service from Leeds Bradford Airport and Manchester Airport to our University campus for new students arriving in Leeds for the first time. If you’re arriving at any other UK airport, we have useful information to help you arrange your own travel to Leeds.

Please note, our airport pick-up service is currently only available to new Postgraduate Researchers arriving in Leeds for the first time. If you're a new undergraduate, Taught Postgraduate or returning student, we have useful information to help you arrange your own travel to Leeds.

When you can book your airport pick-up

  • New Postgraduate Researchers can now book our airport pick-up service up for arrival. Bookings must be made at least five days before you plan to arrive in the UK.

  • Incoming Study Abroad and pre-sessional language centre students, can arrange airport pick-up between Wednesday 25 January and Sunday 5 February. If you are planning to arrive before 25 January, or after 5 February,  you will need to make your own travel arrangements to Leeds

How to book your airport pick-up

If you’re a new Postgraduate Researcher, please email internationalwelcome@leeds.ac.uk to request your transport. Please check the information above for more details on when the airport pick-up service will be available for booking.

If you’re an incoming Study Abroad student or if you’re a student on a pre-sessional language course planning to arrive in January, the Study Abroad Office and/or Language Centre team will contact you directly with more information on how to book this service. If you have any questions on your arrival arrangements, please contact the relevant team for your programme.

After you’ve booked your airport pick-up

We’ll contact you to confirm the details of your transport at least two days before your arrival. The confirmation will include details of who to contact in case you have any problems on your journey.

For any changes on arrival information relating to your aiport pick-up booking, including updating your flight or accommodation details, please email internationalwelcome@leeds.ac.uk.

Free Welcome Food Box

This will contain some essential food items to welcome you on your arrival in Leeds. 

Essential items

If your accommodation doesn’t provide kitchen equipment, bedding, or other essential items, you can order these to be delivered directly to your accommodation before you arrive via UniKitOut. Check what’s included with your accommodation and request what you need in advance to set you up for the best possible start.
