We recommend you drop off any guests with mobility constraints at the main entrance before heading to the car park. Graduation ceremonies are held on the first floor of the Great Hall, accessible via a lift. There will be portering staff in the Hall to offer assistance.
We have an excellent team on hand on the day who can offer assistance to your guests into the Hall via the lift and provide a seat near the exit.
Disabled students taking part in the ceremony
If you are unable to use the steps to the stage, or do not wish to, there is a platform lift available. You also have the option not to go on stage, in which case the Presiding Officer will come down the steps to present your certificate. Please submit your special requirements during registration so we can organise this for you on the day or complete this form;
You may find it useful to watch a webcast of a previous ceremony.
At the end of the ceremony, all graduates process down the centre aisle behind the academic procession, out of the Great Hall. If you need lift access, follow the procession until the end of the centre aisle, then turn right. Once the centre aisle is clear, go back down the centre aisle and out via the main lift.
