Foundation Year Student Advisory Board

If you have completed a foundation year with the Lifelong Learning Centre, you can apply to join the Foundation Year Student Advisory Board.

This is a paid role. The Board meets three times a year to discuss and advise on topics relevant to foundation year students.

To find out more about this opportunity, please email Georgia Melia, Foundation Years Transition Support Officer at g.melia@leeds.ac.uk.

Learning Champions

Learning Champions are mature home-based students who share their experiences with prospective adult learners.

There are many benefits to becoming a Learning Champion:

  • You sign up and can choose whether to participate when events take place. There is no fixed time commitment.
  • You can start by observing other Learning Champions and gradually take a more active role.
  • Events are often held on campus, outside of term time and in the evenings to fit different schedules.
  • We value the work of our Learning Champions, so we provide training, recognition and job references.
  • You gain valuable voluntary experience to add to your CV.
  • You develop confidence and communication skills by speaking with a wide range of groups.

If you have any questions about the scheme, please email the Community and Partnerships Team at candp@leeds.ac.uk.

Peer support across the University
