University emergency contacts

Want to know who can best support you? Find out who to contact in an emergency or if you need help.

Depending on the kind of emergency, there are different people you may contact:

  • Local emergency services (police, fire, ambulance, coastguard)
  • Your GP at home or abroad (see below for Leeds Student Medical Practice)
  • Samaritans: call 116 123 (free from the UK or Ireland)
  • Or go to the Accident & Emergency department of your local hospital
  • Your exchange coordinator at your host university
  • For civil unrest, natural disasters or being arrested, you may need to seek assistance from the British Consulate
  • Don't forget to keep family and the Study Abroad office informed of your situation

If you need to contact the University of Leeds in an emergency these phone numbers may be helpful.
