Study skills

Outside of your school or faculty, there are facilities across the University to help you develop your study skills or improve any spoken languages.

Skills@Library

Through Skills@Library, the Library offers a range of free workshops for students including some aimed specifically at new students. These workshops develop skills such as reading, writing and presenting to support you in your studies. The Library website has more information including a list of current workshops.

Language learning

If you’re interested in learning a new language or improving a current one, our Language Zone has excellent learning facilities you can use for free. If you’d like to learn a language as part of your degree, you may be able to study a language module through Languages for All.

Academic English Courses and Workshops for International Students

If English isn't your first language, we have free, part-time courses and workshops that could help you to develop your academic English language skills.
