Registration events and schedules

When you start university there can be a lot to remember including registration opening dates, student ID card collection dates and induction dates.

Registration system opening times

Academic year 2016/17

You can register online from the following dates:

  • All returning taught students: 1 August 2016
  • New taught postgraduate students: 1 August 2016
  • New undergraduate students: 31 August 2016

Study start dates outside September

If you start your studies outside of September, you can register from the beginning of the month before the scheduled start date of your programme. For example, if you are starting on, or returning to, a programme of study that will start in January, registration will open in early December. Your parent school should also let you know when you can register by writing to you at least a month before your programme starts.

Resuming your studies after taking temporary leave

If you're a taught student returning from temporary leave, please make sure you have confirmed your expected return to the University with your parent school, who will request that your student record is updated and reactivated for your registration.

Year abroad or year in industry

For any undergraduates who will be going into a year abroad or taking a placement as part of their programme of study, please register with Leeds as normal at the beginning of term.

Progressing after the completion of resits

For any taught students who were required to repeat or resit modules in an academic session and particularly for students with August resits, registration may be delayed until the examinations results are known. If your registration is on hold, you may not be able to register online until your school has confirmed your progression.
