British Conference of Undergraduate Research
The University is affiliated with the British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR), which promotes undergraduate research in all disciplines.
If you’re an undergraduate student, the academic conference is a fantastic opportunity for you to present your research in a friendly environment and learn about exciting research from a huge range of disciplines.
Dates and location
BCUR 2025 will be hosted as a full in-person conference experience on 9 to 10 April 2025 at Newcastle University.
There will be a range of resources to ensure the enjoyment and safety of delegates, with the infrastructure to adapt planning if needed.
How to get involved
Undergradate students of all levels are invited to submit papers, posters, workshops and performances to the conference.
Abstract submissions for BCUR 2025 are now open. The deadline for submissions is Sunday 16 February 2025. To submit your abstract, please go to the BCUR 2025 website.
Once abstract submissions have closed, all abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of reviewers.
Applicants will either be accepted or you will be given the opportunity to review your abstract for resubmission. If you are asked to resubmit, you will be given specific feedback on areas for improvement.
You will be contacted by email with the outcome of your submission. If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to attend the conference.
