Out of term time activities

Lots of students are in Leeds during the University holidays and there are a wide range of events and activities which you can get involved with to make the most of these times of year.

Please note, because of the ongoing situation surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19), the activities we offer may be different to usual. We are currently planning for the next academic year, and we will update these pages regularly with information about activities on offer and how we can support you to make the most of your time at Leeds.

During Christmas, Easter and Summer the out of term time activities programme includes a wide range of events throughout the University holidays including the days when the University is closed.

From film and games nights, to volunteering opportunities and trips, the programme contains lots of activities to keep you entertained. Many events are family friendly and welcome students with partners and children in Leeds.

Christmas in Leeds

Christmas in Leeds is an annual programme for all students and postgraduate researchers who are in Leeds over the winter break, providing the chance to meet others, experience Christmas traditions and find out about help and support. To find out what happened last year, download our Christmas in Leeds 2019 guide (PDF download).

What students said about the programme:

“I got a lot of information, recommendations and suggestions regarding the Christmas activities. I did not feel lonely when some friends went back to their hometown.”
