Welcome Hub
New to Leeds? Whether you're coming from across the world or just around the corner, come and see us in the Welcome Hub! Ask questions and get help, get involved in activities and start settling into Leeds.
Remember the iconic Parkinson Building you’ve seen in University brochures for so long? That’s where you’ll find us! Visit the Welcome Hub in Parkinson Court from Monday 18 September to Friday 6 October.
The hub is more than finding information; it's about finding your place. Visit us to:
- Get answers to questions
- Get involved in games and activities
- Connect with current and new students
It can get busy in the hub so if a busy place is not for you, we’ll have a quieter space where you can make the most of your Welcome experience away from the crowds.
Need help finding your way around? Speak to a student Ambassador!
Our ambassadors can be spotted in Parkinson Court wearing a teal, blue or red t-shirt. If you’re lost, unsure or simply need to ask a question, our ambassadors are there to help.
What’s in the Hub?
1. Student Information Point
From how to register, enrolling on modules to where to grab a coffee on campus, our Student Information Service team is there to give you all the practical help you need to get started.
Visit the Student Information Point in the Welcome Hub Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00.
Too busy to ask in the Welcome Hub? With other information points around campus, you can speak to a member of the Student Information Service team in person or contact them by email or phone in your own time.
2. Activity Zone
- Get creative – unleash your creativity at your own pace at our Creative table or join a facilitated crafting group session. We’ll have origami, macramé and more.
- Stop for a game – play independently and help yourself to a round of Jenga, card games, Dobble and other games or join a group session. Come and be part of the fun!
- Meet and chat – What’s it like being a Leeds student? Meet and chat with our current students and get top tips for a successful settling in experience.
- Meet to go and explore – Want to go to an event and looking for someone else to go along with? We know what it’s like to be new to a place. Come to our ‘meet-to-go' table, get to know other students and do something new together.
