This photo was taken in the reef surrounding Heron Island, a tiny coral island about halfway up the body of the Great Barrier Reef. Tourists are not allowed on the island, and there is only a small research station there. Being a UQ student, I had chosen a special Marine Biology intro course, and we visited Heron Island as part of the research. I was there for four days, snorkelling and scuba diving - I even got to snorkel at night, around the shipwreck.
