Are you keen to make the most of your summer and gain international experience? Short programmes are a great chance to experience life in another country.

Please note if you are successful in securing a place on a summer abroad opportunity, your placement is subject to change or cancellation if the destination country is not safe to travel to at the time of the summer programme. Summer Opportunities Abroad

We have a wide range of international summer opportunities available for you to choose from, depending on whether you would like to study, work, volunteer or research.

Subsidised summer schools

University of Leeds students have opportunities to attend subsidised short programmes in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Please note these opportunities are not fully funded, they are partially subsidised.

Although the Study Abroad Office can't provide any financial aid for the programmes listed below, you must let us know if you apply to one of these programmes.

Summer Internships Abroad

Summer internships overseas are a great way for you to gain practical work experience, immerse yourself in life in another country and develop your professional skills.

Participating in a research programme abroad is a great way to develop your research skills and knowledge in a specific area of interest, and gain valuable experience that can boost your professional profile. 

Leeds to South Korea

The Leeds to South Korea Leadership Programme is your chance to develop your leadership and communication skills as you travel to South Korea to work with students from KAIST University to create solutions to some of the world’s greatest challenges.

Plus Programme Scholarships

Santander bank are offering scholarships worth £500 to students accessing the Plus Programme who attend a partner summer school abroad in 2020.
