Where to go for support
During your studies, you might need help or support with general issues, such as IT, submitting assignments or general academic guidance.
Leeds University Union
Leeds University Union has information about a range of topics, including managing exam stress, appeals, proof reading and complaints.
IT Service Desk
Open from 8am until 9pm Monday to Friday and 12pm - 5pm weekends, the IT Service Desk can help with a large range of issues such as forgotten passwords and setting up mobile devices on the Wi-Fi, plus they provide general IT advice to students. They also give out free daily laptop loans, good value weekly loans and also offer a laptop repair service.
The Portal has useful information for University academic support services. As well as personalised announcements from your faculty and school, you can find out more about library services, module announcements and contact details for and updates from LUU student representatives. Not sure on how to get the most out of the Portal? Have a look at the Portal help pages.
The VLE, as well as being the place where you can see all your modules, course notes and assignements, also has a VLE help website. It's great for finding out how to submit your assignments, trouble you might have with uploading to Turnitin, and full of helpful guides and information.
